During the celebrations marking the 175th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Dev Atma, Dr. Agneese Dhillon, Secretary, Dev Samaj, addressed the Mahasabha at the Dev Samaj Head Office, Sector 36-B, Chandigarh.
Speaking on the theme “New Directions of Spiritual Development and Bhagwan Dev Atma,” Dr. Dhillon highlighted the science-based spiritual philosophy established by Bhagwan Dev Atma. She emphasized that the teachings of Dev Samaj encourage people to rise above superstitions, outdated customs and harmful social practices.
She explained that Bhagwan Dev Atma advocated a way of life based on rational thinking, moral development, truthfulness and selfless service. His teachings, she said, inspire individuals to examine beliefs thoughtfully instead of following practices merely because they have been passed down through generations.
Dr. Dhillon also spoke about the importance of overcoming social evils and adopting values that contribute to the development of both the individual and society. According to her address, spiritual development is closely connected with ethical conduct, compassion and responsibility towards others.
She further emphasized that if people adopt the teachings of Bhagwan Dev Atma in their daily lives, they can help create a more progressive, humane and better society for future generations.
The message formed an important part of the four-day Dev Samaj Mahotsav and reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to science-based spirituality, social reform and a life guided by higher moral values.
